A Horn for High-level Players

Teeming with sustain, power, and dynamics, the Yamaha YHR-671 is a professional French horn designed for advanced students and other high-level players. You'll appreciate the added warmth imparted by the YHR-671's .472-inch bore, while its innovative leadpipe design ensures consistent tone and resistance throughout the horn's entire range. You'll also benefit from added brightness and a broad tonal palette, courtesy of the YHR-671's orthodox Geyer wrap. The YHR-671 is an incredibly dynamic instrument, thanks to its medium-sized, yellow brass bell, which exhibits a mellow sound at softer dynamics and a muscular brassiness at higher ones. You'll welcome the comfort of this horn's adjustable fourth rotor thumb lever and convenient extra-long second valve slide pull ring, and its corrosion-resistant nickel-silver valve casing ensures excellent response and steadfast durability. The YHR-671 also features whisper-quiet string linkage and an eye-grabbing lacquer finish. The Yamaha YHR-671 is tailor-made for players with discerning tastes. If this describes you, the YHR-671 may just well be the last French horn you'll ever need to buy.

Tailor-made for discriminating musicians

Serious players searching for a pro-level horn with uncanny power and sustain, along with outstanding playing resistance will find much to appreciate in the YHR-671. This horn's revolutionary gold brass leadpipe contributes greatly to its consistent tone and comfortable breath resistance, which is further bolstered by a .472-inch bore for added warmth and Geyer wrap for added brightness and broad tonality. The YHR-671 boasts a rugged nickel-silver valve casing, along with a quiet-playing string linkage system. You also get an adjustable fourth rotor thumb lever and convenient extra-long second valve slide pull ring.

High-quality yellow brass bell

The Yamaha YHR-671's medium-sized yellow brass bell ensures that this horn covers everything from mellow soft passages to brassy loud passages with equal aplomb. And it sounds outstanding in all registers, with a secure high register, robust projection, and snappy attack from its Bb horn and a rich, warm timbre from its F horn. This bell employs an extra-thick rim wire, which ensures a rich, deep tone with a solid core. The YHR-671 features a clear lacquer finish, which brings a delicate warmth to your overall sound. At Irvine Art & Music, we've also found that this trumpet's lacquer finish gives it a shiny, gleaming look.
