Covet's Yvette Young is a font of brain-twisting mathy rhythms and cascading harmonic tapping. Her latest signature axe, the Ibanez YY10, build's on Ibanez popular S-style Talman platform with turbocharged pickups, premium hardware, and enhanced finishing.
Visually, the Yvette Young Signature stands alone. Its "Flubber Green" lacquer finish has fleks of orange metallic sparkle baked in to help catch the light onstage. On the playability side of things, Yvette's custom neck profile and fret-hugging low action supply a great platform for technical leadwork and tapping. Icing on the cake are Yvette's choice of Duncan Five-Two Strat pickups, a vintage-style Wilkinson WV6-SB trem, rock-solid Gotoh MG-T locking tuners, and a real bone nut. Whether you're a technical guitarist yourself or just looking for a show-ready S-style with premium pickups and hardware, you're sure to love the Ibanez Yvette Young YY10 Signature electric guitar — available now through Irvine Art & Music. Comes set up for FACGBE tuning.
Yvette's Ibanez YY10 is a reboot of popular single-coil tone machines of antiquity. Its lightweight Talman alder body supplies a familiar response and comfortable carry weight, sculpted for greater ergonomics and bedecked in a beautiful metallic green sparkle finish that really makes an impression strapped on onstage or hanging from your studio walls. You even get a custom sticker pack designed by Yvette for adding DIY flair to your stage axe.
Covet's infectious grooves rely heavily on Yvette's two-hand-tapped melodic earworms. For this, Yvette specified a custom-profile Ibanez neck made from solid maple. Top to bottom, the YY10 remains silky smooth and comfortable in the hands, whether you're slapping, chording, or running leads. Its versatile 12"-radius maple fingerboard supports a wide range of players tastes and styles. An added feature we at Irvine Art & Music really appreciate are the luminescent side dot inlays, which make it easy to keep track of your fret-hand position on dark stages.
Yvette's choice of pickups, the Duncan Five-Two Strat set, are sweet and articulate played soft and break up musically when you dig in. A mix of Alnico 2 and Alnico V rod magnets soften the treble attack, avoiding excessive high-end bite while keeping bass notes punchy and tight. The middle Five-Two single-coil is reverse wound to offer you hum cancellation and that great out-of-phase cluck.
As players like Yvette know, tuning stability is just import as tone in a stage instrument. The Ibanez YY10 comes stock with a Wilkinson WV6-SB tremolo bridge for seamless dives, dips, and chirps and Gotoh MG-T locking tuners to eliminate slipping behind the nut.
