Ed Sheeran has conquered popular music over the last decade, selling over 100 million singles and winning four Grammys as well as countless other awards. Now he's taking the guitar world by storm alongside Irish boutique luthiers Lowden Guitars in a dream collaboration.
Lowden build unique acoustics usually found in the upper echelons of the market and are known for their outstanding quality. that same rich character into the much more competitive Wee Lowden, which is based on the very first guitar Lowden built for Sheeran after his extensive use of their acoustics on the album 'X' released in 2014.
This is a small body acoustic, similar to the classic parlour shape. It's the perfect size to take with you on the road or picking up for a quick play whenever you walk past it at home. The Wee Lowden produces a glistening, crystal clear sound, ideal when paired with vocals. Smaller-sized guitars are ideal for duets or for singer/songwriters because of the way they intertwine with vocals.
Owner and founder of Lowden Guitars, George Lowden, helped create the distinctive style of these acoustics. Its unique bevelled soundhole provides excellent low end control, especially when combined with the outstanding LR Baggs Element undersaddle pickup. Hook up the Wee Lowden to an acoustic amp or PA system for larger gigs.
Standard specs across the range include a smooth mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard with a matching bridge, so you'll be comfortable playing for extended periods of time. This particular model is made of a classic Indian rosewood body and strong sitka spruce top. At a 24" scale length, the Wee Lowden is great for fast playing as the jump between frets is minimal. It also means it's an excellent choice for smaller hands.
All Sheeran By Lowden guitars are built using carefully selected tonewoods to get the most out of all materials. They're only sourced from naturally felled trees - each time a tree is used, another is planted in its stead to keep production sustainable. The reliable TUSQ nut is a substitute for many a guitar's real bone nut and functions as well as, if not longer lasting than the regular appointment.
